Derek is best known for founding CD Baby. What many people don’t know is that before starting CD Baby, he was a full time musician. Before that, he graduated from Berklee.
We stay away from talking about his CD Baby story in this interview (as it’s been discussed elsewhere), and focus on how musicians and producers can be more creative, driven, and intelligent when it comes to making music.
It’s not often that a guest changes some of my fundamental views on music and creativity-related things, but it definitely happened in this interview.
